In #trivia-utopia the points are awarded to the nick you have at the moment you answer the question, so if you want to collect points, remember to always use the same nick. Turns out people also recognize you more often that way. Go figure. On Atrum you can own a nick, so reg your fave soonest. To stake claim to your nick, you may register an account on that name with Atrum. To register your nick you'll need to have a working e-mail address, the process will send you a confirmation e-mail.
To register in IRC you'll need to send a message to the nickserv bot. The message is like the following, you'll just need to fill in the bits about you:
/msg nickserv REGISTER <password> <email>
Do not type the <> characters in, your information should replace that. so for example you would type:
/msg nickServ REGISTER thisbeapassword
noobie@mailnet.comYou should receive an e-mail from the bot in a minute or two. Just follow the instructions in that e-mail. If i remember correctly you just need to click on a link to complete the registration. Voilá, you are registered.
Then, you'll want to use that registration to identify yourself when you next come to irc. So you send the following message to the nickserv bot:
/msg nickserv identify <password>
Again, don't type the <> bit. You can use this in IRC manually, or you can input it to be sent automatically by your client.
