| Mmmyessss, so I figured this could be some kind of music sharing-discussion-reviewing thread. So feel free to post any tunes here... *cough* even ABBA is allowed. So, I've been pondering what could possibly be a worthy first tune in this thread... hard pick really. It ought to be a good video, something that not everyone has obviously heard before. Choices choices. Anyway, I finally settled for 2 tunes... one that few have avoided hehe, Ma na ma na by Pieru Umilliani (or however that spells), but the muppets version of it, which is my favourite, I mean just listen to it... pure timeless brilliant sillyness! There's another version with a pretty funny commentary in the end, didn't manage to find that one. Then I picked a second tune, that fewer might've heard, unless you've played the game "The 11th Hour" which was released for PC during the mid 90's as a sequel to "The 7th Guest"... you maneouvre around in a big spooky mansion Myst style, solving various puzzles set up by the "villain" Henry Stauf, this tune is right in the beginning in a kind of separate menu program before you start the game. This version is actually of better quality than the original. I also picked it because of it's rather... special sound, but most of all for the title - Mr Death by European Sex Machine.

| Yea, fair enough. ABBA looked old already back then, I'm not sure they ever were kids tho... they probably have their spaceship parked in an alley somewhere and "Disaster Area" is probably missing their opening band. Hadn't heard Struck a Nerve before, pretty sad - as was Hurt, been played a lot on the radio here that one. Ok, found this this morning... what I luv about Zelda tunes is that one can still find traces from the first game in the music, always refined and modernized but the source is always present... and this guy... well, he's simply spectacular. |

| Ah! Gloomy sunday! Gawd I luv that one, studied it quite a bit one evening about a month ago actually. The english text is sort sucky as it chickens out in the ending. The original lyrics by Reszo Seress is nicer, never found a decent recording of that one tho, and one can probably not fully appreciate it if unfamiliar with the hungarian language anyway - translations always warps it. Lots of intersting stories about that song. My favourite version of it is made by Björk - but then again I do have a thing for that woman. Sorry you're feeling somewhat tired/down btw. :\ |

| Continuing on the same track... somewhat. Composed by Rob Lord, sung by Eric Idle and intro to the absolutely terrific game Discworld 2. Has a touch of Sinatra or something. Pretty sure it's an original composition, but might've been inspired by something or the other way 'round... feels like I've heard something similiar somewhere. Oh well, lovely nevertheless - "throwing books from afar - Terry Pratchett". |

| Here is my tribute to the man who started the "sixties". I can recall hearing him on the car radio late one night sitting in my Father's car for the first time as a youngster (10 or 11) and it was like wow! Keep in mind that Rock&Roll and Rhythm&Blues was not played on radio stations that much during that era, especially in West Texas. |

| Focus - total gem! Ah yea, remembering you mentioning Wolfman Jack in the channel Hemp, very significant voice. Muddy Waters - classy, and educative - now I know what a reefer is! lol Danish band below, had them in the car for quite a while. Luv the contemplative stuff. Not their best song IMO, but it had decent quality... and one really needs good quality sound to pick up all the little blip and blop details in many of their tunes. Plus it's sorta fun to see where that little fella is going. I've probably posted the next one in the channel at some point. Native band, dunno if they're still active. For some reason they got labeled as somewhat cheesy, glamrock-ish. Sure, they're not as hard as... Soilwork, Rammstein, In Flames or whatnot, but still... it's not that bad, and this tune may just carry one of the most important messages ever. |

Hmmm, what is this murderous intent I'm sensing far away... *sneaks away and disguises* Everybody needs to experience the para para once in their lifetimes, consider yourself blessed lol. Was looking for Salut Moskvi actually... but couldn't find that one. I guess one can say much about Russia, but army music is pretty big over there and they probably do have the best military ensembles in the world, and Engel; Prodigy . |
